Behind GFinTrack
GFinTrack started as a personal spreadsheet. When it outgrew a spreadsheet, I built a tool that still keeps your data in a spreadsheet — your spreadsheet.
Why I built this
I was frustrated with personal finance apps that vaulted my bank data behind their own servers, charged subscription fees to see my own numbers, and made it impossible to customize anything. My spreadsheet was flexible but manual.
GFinTrack threads that needle: you keep full ownership of your data in a Google Sheet or Excel file that you control, and the app adds real-time dashboards, budgets, investment tracking, and tax tools on top of it. No proprietary lock-in. No surprises.
Your data, your file
Your financial data lives in your own Google Sheet or OneDrive Excel — not on our servers. We read it with your explicit permission and never store transaction data ourselves.
Full transparency
The exact OAuth scopes we request, what we read, what we can't access — it's all spelled out plainly on our Trust page. No buried footnotes.
No lock-in
Delete your GFinTrack account at any time. Your Google Sheet or Excel file stays yours, exactly as it was. We have nothing to hold over you.
My commitment to you
I will never sell your personal data to third parties.
I will never silently change what data the app reads.
If there is ever a security incident, I will notify you within 72 hours.
I will keep the free tier functional — your dashboard will always work.
If I ever decide to shut this down, I will give 90 days notice.
